Boob Jobs Up Despite Cash Woes: Cosmetic Surgery On Breasts Increased By 30 Percent
The doom and gloom might be spreading as Britain descends into recession – but some things are remaining buoyant. The number of ‘boob jobs’ have increased by 30% in the past year, according to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
In total, more than 34,000 surgical procedures were performed in 2008. Despite the credit crunch, people are shelling out thousands of pounds for perfection.

Nigel Mercer, consultant plastic surgeon and president of Baaps, said: “These figures indicate that, despite the beginnings of a financial downturn last year, the public’s interest in aesthetic surgery remained strong, especially in regards to specific procedures.”
