While shoppers may always be looking for deals, Dr. Goldman says this isn’t the time to be thrifty. Goldman says the Botox bought in foreign countries isn’t the same good, quality as the Botox solution manufactured in the United States, which has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
“When Botox is shipped across the border from foreign countries, the problem is, it maybe shipped improperly and the Botox could degrade,” says Goldman.
So the buyer may think they are getting a deal, but instead they could be paying more in the long run because the Botox is not as potent.
“The fact that it’s very diluted Botox, which means it doesn’t give you the same results,” says Lillian Willis, a patient of Goldman’s.
