As most Shanghai businesses are left pulling out their hair, the cosmetic surgery clinics appear to be unscathed by the worldwide recession. “Our business soared from the end of November and early December,” said Dr. Liao from the Shanghai Time Plastic Surgery Hospital. “There was an increase in patients of 45 percent year on year.”
