Plastic surgeons and dermatologists have reported a rise in nonsurgical cosmetic procedures, from a relatively mild chemical peel or microdermabrasion to the more invasive Botox and fillers. “It’s huge — it’s grown 25 percent in this down economy,” said Dr. Peter Kay, a board-certified plastic surgeon at Perfection Plastic Surgery who has noticed patients choosing smaller, more affordable treatments.
